Givat Shmuel is a young family city: 44 of its 63 kindergartens are state-religious, and parks with play areas are a few minutes' walk from most homes. Gan and grade 1 registration is online every winter, and the matnas runs afternoon programmes in the municipal gans.

For 2026-27 registration ran online from 19 January to 8 February 2026; after that, placement is only where places are free. Registration for 2027-28 had not been announced on 9 October 2026; expect it around January 2027.

Book an afternoon programme (tzaharon)
The matnas runs tzaharonim in the state and state-religious municipal gans until 17:00, with registration, rules, holiday calendar and allergy policy on its site.

The municipality publishes a 2026 list of daycares. Recognised (semel) maonot register through the Labour Ministry site from February; private gans register directly.

Learn the parks
Ramon Park, Park Elkana's rope park, Park Darom, the Ramat Hadar linear park and the new North Park all have play areas; Gan Weismonsky in Ramat Ilan has a toddler corner and a dog park.

Story hours and science workshops at the library
The municipal library runs Monday story hours (20 NIS per child, buy ahead) and a science workshop series for grades 1-3.

Day out: Ramat Gan Safari
The Safari, about 4 km away, is open every day including Shabbat; public transport stops about 10 minutes' walk from the gate.

English for English-speaking kids
The matnas runs an after-school 'English for English speakers only' class at several branches, and both Bnei Akiva branches run the Amishav programme for olim children.

Registration must be renewed every year, and new residents need a signed rental or purchase contract showing the entry date. The Home Front Command warning time here is 90 seconds.
